New Year's Eve 2011 @ the Youth Hostel in Berlin
Herbal alcohol is the bomb. While Christmas back home in Dublin was a quiet affair, New year's at Berlin was downright crazy. The aftermath of smoke from the fireworks and broken glass bottles strewn across the walkway were silent witnesses to the loud booming music and a million people partying at Brandenburger Tor moments right up to the countdown. It's absolutely fascinating how booze, music and dancing can bring people who speak different languages together.
